‘Tis the season for cocooning yourself in a sea of comforters and not leaving the confines of your bedroom. These are the warm, cozy Homepolish-designed spaces we wish we called our own all winter.
Regardless of where you live or how low your thermometer dips, this time of year always induces a case hibernation fever. The tug of the outdoors, which felt so powerful just weeks ago, is swiftly replaced with a strong desire to stay bundled under covers with a thick book and steaming cup of chai tea. It’s no surprise that during this time of year, our appreciation for the the cozy bedrooms our designers create intensifies. Below, we’ve rounded up seven of our favorite relaxing retreats—excuse us as we fantasize about camping out here all season.
The swathes of textured linens, a reindeer hide throw, and monochrome palette are divine, but it’s that steel soaker tub just footsteps away from the bed that’s our biggest weakness, and eliminates any need to leave the bedroom all winter.
Michelle Zacks shows us a what an ideal winter wonderland looks like—no slush, no sub-degree temps, no shoveling. Just a whole lot of white-on-white and a bed sized for all our faux-snow angel needs.
We’re taking cues from Homepolish designer Gianna Marzella and anointing velvet as the texture of the season—and the cure to all our winter blues.
When you’re in full-fledged denial about the 14 inches of snow outside, it’s best to just make your bedroom a stylish homage to the Sahara—complete with artwork as blinding as the desert sun.
Between the slightly unkempt bed, the fully stocked bookshelf, and images of warmer locales, we see no need to venture beyond the four walls of this boho bedroom for at least a month (or three).
When you’ve resigned yourself to embracing the receding daylight hours, we recommend cocooning your walls in deliciously dark paint that resembles the night sky, with lighting inspired by the celestial.
With a light pendant that doubles as a refined disco ball and a faux-fur throw that can easily transform into a makeshift luxe ball gown, this warm-and-fuzzy retreat is essentially your own personal dance club that you don’t have to Uber home from at the end of the night.
